For securing your dog in your house you have the wire dog crate. What if you want to take your dog hunting or with you anywhere and your only transportation is a pickup truck or you want to take your dog on the airplane. There are specialized solutions for just these situations.

The plastic dog crates are the type of dog crate or kennel that is approved for air travel. Their design is such that the sides are enclosed and protected but there is a steel wire door and ventilation slots or windows all around the crate. Most models come with areas to tie down the crate making them a great portable solution for the bed of a pickup truck. You can purchase insulated dog crate covers that will add insulation, for them cold winter hunts, and some storage. Check with the airline before you make plans on the specifications of the crate for transporting. Mostly the regulations deal with the size of the crate in relation to the size of the dog.

A more permanent solution for the pickup truck is aluminum dog boxes. These are sturdy secure modules that fit are specially made to fit in a pickup truck bed and come in all types of designs. They are made for one to six dogs and fit in the truck like those aluminum toolboxes the construction guys have in their trucks. These boxes are enclosed with sufficient ventilation but they are mostly made for the cooler months. There are special ones can be bought for cooler months that are designed with more ventilation. The doors lock and some have storage compartments included.

There are similar box like kennels that are made in fiberglass giving the dog owner a solution for multiple dogs in a light weight portable box. You can get these in colors or camouflaged.

All these dog kennels or dog crates are sturdy, well made and the prices are reasonable for the protection you get. They are specifically designed to carry your best friend or best hunting partner safely and comfortably.
